Reservoir Engineering

Reservoir Engineering

Material Balance

  • Use classical material balance calculations in tank models of the reservoir (especially for reservoirs containing gas and retrograde condensate).
Using industry standard software: MBal (Petroleum Experts) the multi-tank models can be used to either:
    • history match production data to identify hydrocarbons in place and major drive mechanisms
    • predict future production profiles at a reservoir level or by incorporating production wells
  • Decline curve analysis
  • Monte Carlo Simulations
  • Build fully compositional fluid models that handle either Black Oil correlations or Equation of State models for oil, gas and retrograde condensates with liquid drop-out and changes in gas gravity and condensate-gas ratios.

Dynamic Simulation

  • Reservoir Dynamic Simulation using Eclipse 100/300 and PETREL RE as well as Roxar TEMPEST and RMS to perform history matching, infill well and field development planning
  • Reservoir dynamic simulation and surface network coupling using either Petroleum Experts (RESOLVE) or Schlumberger (AVOCET IAM) software. This incorporates the dynamic reservoir simulation with wells and the surface pipe-work and facilities at each time step during the prediction phase resulting in more accurate predictions.

Reserves Estimation

  • Securities Exchange Commission reserve evaluations or
  • Society of Petroleum Engineering reserve evaluations
